The Airfix (Part II)

I done it, I bloody done it.

I’ve made me an Airfix model. Well, it’s Revell officially, but sod it, Airfix have gone bust, let’s pretend I did good.

To be perfectly honest, I was a bit disappointed to find out quite how small it was, I don’t really understand the hideously technical and complicated ratio system so 1:74 equals smaller.

I think i was hoping that in the box would bea very big plane in lots of small parts, but it wasn’t it was a very small plane in lots of tiny plants.

I didn’t paint the pieces before, nor sand them down, nor cut them out carefully (so I broke the rear wheel bit) I stuck it all together – not even allowing for the bits where it says I should wait for it to dry before proceeding.

I did it

It’s done

This morning I painted it (in only two colours) and this afternoon I applied the decals

Now it’s done… I will be making more over the following months – watch this space – I will single handedly bring Airfix from the brink of death.

Here are some pics…
