Cracked it.
I have possibly bankrupted MFI and Ikea in one fell swoop.
We don’t need no bookcases anymore.
My room moving books strewn on floor problem has been solved, I built a book wall.
Next to door I have stacked all the books in brick formation according to thickness of book , it is secure and in theory you can take out any one book and the distributed weight will leave the gap there and the wall in place.
I say in theory becuase I’m not willing to rebuild it…again. As I already have once when trying to shift it to put my broadband cable internet wire thing behind it. And if I’m perfectly honest I don’t think I rebuilt it as effectively the second time around.
What I may have to do is grade all the books by size to work out layers of identical thickness.
This is a far cry from my anal former self, who used to always use size as the last possible book ordering system, I’d go for favourite book, then all of authors other books in chronological order (never go alphabetical, it’s not a fucking shop), even if I didn’t like the books that much. It would take ages to effectively sort them and I took great pleasure in my system.
And now it’s just by number of pages, the old me would have been aghast.
But then again, that old me was a virgin, So I am better.
This new me bakes bread and everything.
