Gigging to Goths

Eight people in today, on a 2for1, not as great as I hoped, but certainly enough to be an audience.

Interestingly, three of them are proper Goths that I flyered outside the venue. I’ve never actually done the show to propers Goths before.

But something doesn’t feel right. The show is falling very flat, still enjoyable, still laughter. But many lines aren’t quite hitting home and I’m not so sure why.

The Goths are fun, we have banter, but I feel my performance tonight isn’t winning them over.

Show is still good, but in hindsight I know exactly what the problem was. It’s Edinburgh itself, pulling the gig last night led to a day of heavy heavy stress and flyering, so much so that I didn’t think for a second about the show until I was stood in my little corridor

So, a good lesson learnt, the hour where I do my talking is very important. Best not to let it slip

Still feeling good though, show was not shit by any means. Tomorrow will be aces…
