The Not So Healthy Health Kick

It’s another sunnyish day in London town, I’m up early and instead of cramming myself on to the crowded 73 bus where I’ll probably got stopped and fined by a ticket inspector for not having a valid ticket (I am a rebel). I thought it best to continue with my new healthy lifestyle by walking into work.

London is a city famed for having parks and things. So I have chosen my journey carefully for maximum Photosynthesis benefit.

But also I tend to be running late most mornings, so instead I choose the quickest route.

Despite being healthy, this morning my faffing around my flat trying to find my watch (why can I not just take it off and leave it in the same place? But no, I have unhook it and then fling it somewhere random with gay abandon) I am running late again.

The quickest available route is actually a straight line from my flat to my office (not just my office, I’m not important, I share an office with lots of others in my temping hum drum tedium)

This straight line happens to take me through the the lovely Victorian smogness of both Kings Cross and Euston, with millions of angry trucks, cars and buses chugging their way along. It’s actually not all that nice breathing in. and one thing I’ve found in life is that during a brisk walk breathing in is not options (see also breathing out)

So I may be sat at home living off nuts and fruit and doing sit ups (well, I had a tin of Del Monte Fruit Cocktail on Sunday) But as soon as I go outside I get lung cancer, or at least a cough, and dirty hands.

So from now on, to get fit and healthy, I’m going to take the bus.
