So, obviously I got the job with the panel of three interviews. It will take me from now up until September if I stay here.
Basically the job is to enter things into a new system in parallel with people upstairs who are entering stuff into their old system.
Not really sure why, but they’re paying me £8 an hour for the privilege.
Or at least they should be, but the system isn’t working yet.
So far this week we have had a training session on a test system that is nothing like the live one that isn’t actually live. Ergo, an utterly pointless morning. Yesterday after spending half an hour getting ID badges we had the day to “use the internet if you want†plus we were told to have a two hour lunch break, finish at four, but would still get paid for the full day.
Today seems to be similar. It seems also that this is one of the few temping opportunities where the manager has realised just quite how dull data entry can be…The drill is that we can wear what we like, take breaks when we like. As long as the work gets done.
Unfortunately this trust leads me to just surf the net, take breaks and write up my diary all day.
The fool…
