Still ever behind on work I thought it was high time I took a night off (go figure)
Flatmate Tom (I’ve decided to identify all people by their association to me and then their name, Dr Jones gave me the idea) was playing on his computer. He was playing Sim City 3000.
I can remember in my old life of beer and playstation and not lots of writing/working or gigging that I used to play Sim City with my flatmates and get pissed.
Well, tonight I thought I could relieve these golden times.
We started a new city and ate raisins.
We ended up playing for about five hours. In this time we had built an impressive industrial sector and a nuclear power station. Twenty years of game time had passed and it was midnight. Time for bed.
Now, the other week I was annoyed with myself for falling asleep and wasting a night. But tonight was far far worse.
Firstly, it’s very nerdy and embarrassing and I would never be able to publicly admit on a website available to the whole world that I spent the night playing a nerdy game.
Secondly, to get anywhere with the game you have to approximately sacrifice half of your life to it. I’m not going to get the chance to play it again as I’ve too much on.
So this means that I’ve started a game I can’t finish.
I am more of an idiot than the cat.
Mind you, it’s a very nice city so far, lots of parks.
